Carole-Anne Davies - Chair of the Board of Trustees

Carole-Anne Davies is founding chair of the Gregynog Trust. Carole-Anne was born and educated in Brynmawr, South Wales and as a history of art and literature graduate, she has long maintained a lively interest in culture in all its forms. Carole-Anne has over 30yrs experience drawn from a career in senior management in the private and public sectors, and is currently Chief Executive of the Design Commission for Wales. Previously she was Director of Cardiff Bay Arts Trust, a Trustee of National Museum Wales and a consultant to the Scottish Government. She is an alumna of the Comon Purpose Global Leaders programme, of Harvard Kennedy School Executive Programme and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). She is a very keen gardener and serial allotment holder.
Andrew Jedwell

Educated at Haberdashers Askes followed by seven years at Colegrave stockbrokers.
In line with the zeitgeist moved to Wales in 1974 and founded Whole Foods (later Meridian Foods). Over the next 25years went from start-up to 150 employees and eight figure turnover at time of sale, since when have undertaken mentoring and consultancy for small food companies.
I have been involved in a number of organisations at the interface between the private and the public sectors e.g.
1996-2010 member WDA Agri-Food partnership Strategy group (within which chair North Wales /chair Objective One Partnership/chair Organic Strategy Group)

Living in the upper Dee valley. Married to Rhiannon, first language Welsh speaker. Two sons.
Dr Elizabeth Siberry OBE

Liz Siberry was a pupil at Howell’s School, Llandaff and then studied history at the universities of London and Cambridge, where she was awarded a Ph.D in 1982. She then worked as a civil servant in London, including several years as a departmental HR Director and was awarded an OBE in 1997. Since retirement, she has held a number of Trustee roles in Wales, including as a member of the Board of the National Library of Wales. She is currently a member of the Councils of the University of Wales and the University of Wales Trinity St. David; a member of the Council of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion; Chair of the Brecknock Society and Museum Friends; a Trustee of the Brecknock Arts Trust and on the editorial Board of the journal Brycheiniog. As a historian, Liz continues to research and publish articles on aspects of medieval history and the history of Brecknockshire.
Professor Robert Meyrick

Art historian and curator, Professor Robert Meyrick writes on British printmaking, art in Wales, and collecting practices. He has researched and curated exhibitions for the National Library of Wales and the Royal Academy of Arts and published numerous monographs. Robert’s association with Gregynog spans almost five decades as: visiting undergraduate student; university lecturer with his own student groups; member of Editorial Board of Gwasg Gregynog (for which he designed two illustrated books); curator of ten annual Music Festival exhibitions; and University of Wales representative on its Gregynog Sub Committee. He has published widely on Gregynog and the Davies sisters as collectors. Robert is acknowledged as the leading expert on Hugh Blaker – painter, author, dealer, connoisseur and collector – who today is best remembered as art advisor to Gwendoline and Margaret Davies.
Dr Janet Lewis

Janet Lewis is a social scientist with a particular interest in social policy. She was brought up in Newtown and still has a base there. She has a degree from Edinburgh and a PhD from the University of London.. She worked as a researcher or research manager for a number of organisations culminating in being the Research Director at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation for 16 years. Since her retirement she has been involved in a range of activities in a voluntary capacity. This included being a Trustee of a number of organisations including the Montgomeryshire Community Regeneration Association (MCRA)and the Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Trust. In addition to being a Trustee of the Gregynog Trust she is currently Chair of the Newtown Textile Museum Trust and is actively engaged in the day to day management of Museum.
She divides her time between Newtown and London.
